MANTEO - Theatre of Dare is bringing the Christmas cheer with its latest production, “Yes, Virginia, There is a Santa Claus”. This holiday romp will premier December 7 th and run through December 15 th .

Telling the story of a young girl named Virginia who writes a letter to the paper
posing the question, “Some of my little friends say there is no Santa Claus. Please, tell
me the truth. Is there a Santa Claus?”. This show will be presented in the style of a
radio play, with actors of all ages approaching microphones with scripts in hand, with
minimal costumes and set.

This production will be performed upstairs at Dare Arts, with whom Theatre of
Dare has long shared a fellowship with. Speaking on the production, director Gail
Hutchison states, “It’s been great working with both adults and children for this radio
show. Also, it’s been great to build our community. Most of the actors in this production
are new to us, including a lot of the kids from our summer camps with Stacey Maxwell.
We even have families acting alongside one another, which is just cool!” “Yes, Virginia,
There is a Santa Claus” features a wide array of actors both young and not so young
and is sure to bring the joy to kick off the holiday season. “It’s just been wonderful to feel
like we can include everyone and give them a place to shine, especially the kids,” says
Hutchison.

Theatre of Dare is pleased to present a little joy and magic this holiday season.

is a Santa Claus” will run from December 7 th -8 th , and December 12 th -15 th upstairs at Dare Arts in Manteo. Audiences should note that evening performances will begin at 7pm,
