Board of Directors
The Theatre of Dare Board of Directors is a nine-person volunteer committee charged with keeping the lights on and the shows running. Board members serve three-year terms, and elections are held during the General Membership Meeting at the end of each season. Board meetings are held monthly and are open to the general public. KELSEY THOMPSON
Long-time performer and recent Board Treasurer Kelsey Thompson will now be using that business brain of hers to manage our new theater in Kitty Hawk! DAMON HORAK
Damon Horak is a newly elected Board member. Often referred to as the Phantom of the Theatre, you may have seen him around. He is a theatre arts extraordinaire with experience in directing, acting, choreographing, music directing and various technical aspects. Damon is proud to be sitting on the Board of Directors with such great members of this wonderful community organization!

STEPHANIE HARKNESS MOXLEY
Stephanie began participating in Theatre of Dare shows with Cabaret in 2018 but has quickly become an integral part of many shows assisting her mom Kathie with costuming and running props. She loves looking for the weird and unusual props! You will often see Stephanie as stage manager behind the curtain supporting the directors and cast and making sure the shows run smoothly. Her son Jay has also been a part of ToD since 2018 and is now studying theater in college thanks to the support of ToD! She looks forward to doing her part as a board member for TOD' s continued growth and success, with a focus on supporting our youth and creating a safe place for artistic growth for young people.

ADARA HULS
After making her Theatre of Dare debut in Rocky Horror (2018) Adara has continued to grace the stage in productions like Arsenic and Old Lace, The Man Who Came To Dinner and the Drowsy Chaperone even making her directorial debut in 2021 with Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol. Adara has enjoyed every moment spent in this community and looks forward to the coming years as a board member.

Lara is a multi-faceted individual with a rich background in the arts. Currently working at Seagreen Art Gallery, Lara is not only a talented director and actress, but also a brilliant and creative fabric and block printing artist. Lara serves as an invaluable member of Theatre of Dare's Board, bringing her extensive artistic expertise to shape the creative vision of the organization. She has directed such wide-ranging shows as The Great American Trailer Park Christmas Musical, Next to Normal, and our original 2018 production of The Rocky Horror Show.

EVAN TILLETT
Evan is a Dare County native who has been an integral part of our organization since his debut in Cabaret in 2018. He has since acted in productions such as The Rocky Horror Show (twice), The Last Five Years, and Exit, Pursued by a Bear. He has directed Five Women Wearing the Same Dress, assistant directed The Diaries of Adam & Eve, and will be directing the upcoming August: Osage County. He has been an active board member since 2020 and we have been stuck with him ever since.

MARY ROSS
Mary made her TOD debut as 'Abby' in Arsenic and Old Lace, and you may have also seen her recently in productions such as The Rocky Horror Show, The Man Who Came To Dinner and The Drowsy Chaperone. She also assistant directed Exit, Pursued by a Bear and made her directorial debut with 2023's The Bad Seed.

TIM HASS
Tim is honored to be back on the Board of Directors for a second stint, having previously served on the Board from 2014-2020. He serves as TOD's amateur webmaster and publicist, has also appeared in shows such as The Drowsy Chaperone, Tuesdays With Morrie and Boeing Boeing and directed Exit, Pursued By A Bear and Picasso at the Lapin Agile. In his spare time, Tim enjoys travel, photography and hosting trivia nights at the Lost Colony Waterfront Beer Garden.

NICK OPREA
Nick joined TOD as Mr. Mushnick in Little Shop of Horrors, and has appeared in several shows sice, including Arsenic and Old Lace, in which he shared the stage with his daughter Kana who played the dead body. You’ve might have also seen him in The Mousetrap, The Great American Trailer Park Christmas Musical, and The Wizard of Wonderland. Through his time at the theater he’s been supported by his beautiful family.

KIM PLYLER
Kim made her ToD debut in The Rocky Horror Show in 2018 and has been actively involved ever since! From her leading role in Five Women Wearing the Same Dress to her featured roles in Mame and Urinetown, Kim embraces ever character with a passion! She has also served as assistant director for Next to Normal and is now taking her turn as director with Toil & Trouble. She has been a wonderful addition to our board since 2022!
