Since March of 1992, Theatre of Dare has entertained its Outer Banks audiences with comedy, drama and musical productions, from Neil Simon to Mark Twain, from Shakespeare to Monty Python.

1991-2022
Our roots: From our very first production of 'California Suite' to the May 1995 production of 'Laura'
Theatre of Dare explores 'The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) in October of 2005, and needs some comedic therapy with 'Meanwhile, Back on the Couch' in May of 2010.
Pandemic be damned! We start taking our shows online with a radio production of 'Dracula'.
From 'The Trip to the Bountiful' in November of 1995, Theatre of Dare takes a trip to the 21st Century with 'Blithe Spirit' in May of 2000.
'Sylvia' kicks off our 20th Season in October of 2010, but by May of 2015 we're all 'Manly Men'.
We kick off our second decade with 'A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum', and five years later end up 'Over the River and Through the Woods'
The thriller 'Wait Until Dark' opens our Silver Anniversary Season in 2015, but by the final show of our pandemic-shortened 29th season, we've fallen in love with 'Mame'.
